Lesson 7: Walking with Him intentionally
 www.bible.com/bible/59/psa.119

 41 Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise;
42 then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word.
43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in your rules.
44 I will keep your law continually, forever and ever,
45 and I shall walk in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts.
46 I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame,
47 for I find my delight in your commandments, which I love.
48 I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.

 As we mature and grow in Him, we find our focus of life turning from what WE need to what is needed for those around us. We learn to trust Him to supply all our personal needs as we begin to work in His kingdom – Matthew 6:33. Our requests of Him turn to things we need to accomplish what He is asking of us.

Verse 41 says we know our own love is not great enough; we need His love to be able to answer well those who ridicule us for our belief in Him (verse 42).

Verse 43 acknowledges our constant need for Jesus and His word in our life. From His word comes the certainty of our hope in Him – His promises.

Our hearts cry out to God in our desire to be forever faithful to Him. We know only with His presence can we walk in places where otherwise we would be lost or not find the right path (verses 44-45).

From His word we can speak to others, no matter who they are, with wisdom which will never bring shame (verses 45-46). Sometimes we feel intimidated by people, or we are afraid of them for perhaps very good reasons – but when we speak God’s word to them we have the promise His word will never return without accomplishing all God intends for it to do in the heart of each person (see Isaiah 55:10-11).

Verse 48 – we reach for things we want, for things precious to us. This is how we should see the Bible in our life, as the most precious possession we could ever have. We intentionally make it such in our life.
