Lesson 15: Nurtured by God
 www.bible.com/bible/59/psa.119

105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules.
107 I am severely afflicted; give me life, O LORD, according to your word!
108 Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O LORD, and teach me your rules.
109 I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law.
110 The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts.
111 Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
112 I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.

One of the greatest things about the Bible is it can provide everything we need to be able to live our Christian life. In a word this is called “nurture.” To nurture someone means we provide food and shelter, teaching and guidance, love and affirmation, discipline and correction, and so on. In 2 Timothy 3:17 we read, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
- Verse 105 – the Bible is a guide for the path we walk
- Verse 106 – it gives us the desire to do the right thing
- Verse 107 – it gives us purpose to go forward when we are hurting
- Verse 108 – it shows us how to praise God
- Verse 109 – it gives us courage to keep going
- Verse 110 – it shows me how to avoid temptation
- Verse 111 – it is my hope for my future and gives me joy
- Verse 112 – it gives me strength to go on to the end

Too many times we start to believe we can do things in our own wisdom and strength, but the Bible is the only source of wisdom and guidance that will never fail us.
