Lesson 23: Tenacity with God
 www.bible.com/bible/59/psa.119

169 Let my cry come before you, O LORD; give me understanding according to your word!
170 Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word.
171 My lips will pour forth praise, for you teach me your statutes.
172 My tongue will sing of your word, for all your commandments are right.
173 Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
174 I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight.
175 Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me.
176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.

Tenacity, the ability to hold on and keep on going, is something God wants to see in each of His children. All through Scripture we find examples of people who kept on believing even when what God had promised seemed impossible. Among them are Abraham, Joseph, David, all the prophets, the disciples of Jesus, and many more.

Let’s see the ways He asks us to be faithful to the end – tenacious – in these verses:
- In coming to Him with our needs.
- In bringing before Him our requests for deliverance.
- In bringing Him our praise.
- In bringing Him our songs of joy.
- In seeking Him when we need His help to do what He’s asked of us.
- In waiting on Him for His promised salvation in eternity.
- In hoping for His promise to never leave us or forsake us.
- In claiming His promise to forgive us no matter how many times we fail Him.

God’s word is our single offensive weapon in our battle against evil (Ephesians 6:17). It has the incredible promise from God that it will accomplish EVERYTHING He sends it to do (Isaiah 55:11). It is our possession of highest value for eternity – our greatest treasure.
