Lesson 3: God’s Power is Demonstrated in Miracles
Matthew 8:27 - “And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him?”
According to our text, the disciples were absolutely amazed by Jesus' behavior. Why? Because they saw firsthand that Jesus not only had the miraculous power to create the universe but to also control it! It was not just the wind and the waves that Jesus had the power to control. Let me share with you just a few of the other miracles He had the power to do:

I do not know about you, but I say that anyone who could command the winds and waves, walk on water and raise the dead, must be powerful; how about you?
Jesus’ greatest miracle, something impossible for any human, was on resurrection day - when He raised Himself from the dead. In John 2:19 and John 10:18 Jesus prophesied that He would raise Himself from the dead. He said He had the “authority to lay it down and to take it up again.” In John 11 Jesus called Himself the “resurrection and the life.” Then, in John 14:6, He said He is life itself. God the Father and God the Spirit were right there when Jesus rose from the dead! Only God could rise from the dead in His own power!
* What makes the miracle of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead important to your life?
