Lesson 8: God in His Power Can Solve Any Problem
Jeremiah 32:17 - “Ah, Lord GOD! It is You who have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for You."
God can do whatever He wants because nothing is too difficult for Him to do. Did you know that includes all our problems? This is a huge comfort to me. I know I am not the only one who encounters problems in life, but sometimes they can seem so huge that we start to wonder if we will make it through this one. Sometimes we think we have done all we can do and prayed all we can pray and the problems still never seem to go away. Then we start to think that maybe this is one problem that not even God can fix. But what do we read in our text above? Nothing is too difficult for God. And the last time I checked, nothing means nothing! God can solve any problem and because we have such a hard time believing this, I give you some proof. Wait until you hear how God solved this problem:
Bella Paskin was captured during World War II from his home in Hungary and taken to Russia. He was put to work burying the German dead. After the war was over, he walked hundreds of miles to return to his home, only to find his family gone. A neighbor told him they had all been taken to Auschwitz, and had died there. He finally arrived in America where he met a stranger on a train one day who also spoke Hungarian. During this conversation the stranger suddenly asked him if his wife’s name was Marva. Bella answered it was, and the stranger then took him off the train, and found a pay phone where he called a number. He handed the phone to Bella, and Bella found himself talking with his wife!
The kind stranger had met her and heard her story just a few weeks before, and had been so impressed by her loneliness that he had written down her number and address. This stranger now put Bella into a cab, paid the fare for Bella, and reunited Bella and Marva who each believed they were alone in the world.
Only God could arrange for these two men to meet on the subway, especially when the stranger said he did not normally ride this train nor was he usually riding at this time of day.
I would say Mr. and Mrs. Paskin have no problem believing that God can solve any problem, even today! Do you believe? God’s ability and power includes our problems too, all of them! And I believe that someone who could reunite that couple in that manner would be considered powerful. I would say He could probably do whatever He wants! Just remember to pay close attention to what Jesus does in your life during those times while you are waiting for His solution; that time will increase your faith in Him.
Through Jesus Christ we really can have an intimate personal relationship with the Creator of the universe before it is too late!
* Memorize Jeremiah 32:17 – “If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”
