Lesson 1: This Gift Called Salvation
Introduction: To be able to understand the gift of salvation God has given us means we can make the truth of our salvation a more important part of our life. Ephesians 6:17 says we are to “put on the helmet of salvation” as part of our armor for battling against evil. A helmet is needed to protect your head, your brain, your ability to think, your ability to choose.
Romans 12:2 says we are not to be like this world, we are to be transformed into a new person so we can know and understand God’s will for us, so we can know what is good and acceptable and perfect.
If salvation is to be this helmet for us, then it is important for us to understand it. Please understand – WE have nothing to do in this salvation – it is entirely a work of God, there is absolutely nothing we can DO toward making this salvation happen. The work of salvation was completely done by Jesus Christ when He died on the cross – all He asks of us is we accept this gift by believing God for something we cannot even experience as it happens. Salvation happens in a moment – and then it is our responsibility to work it out in our life – to use what it is in us to become the person God has designed and created us to be.
We invite you to explore this gift from God called Salvation.
