Lesson 15: Transferred into the Kingdom of the Son of His Love

The verse we started with in the last lesson doesn’t end with deliverance – it continues with hope! Colossians 1:13 – “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.”

A story was told some years ago about a man who had been imprisoned in a foreign country, who managed to escape but then had to make his own way home through enemy country. It took many months to reach home. This is not what God did when He set you free from the prison of darkness – He is not asking you to make your own way to His kingdom from where you are. Instead, God delivered you from the domain of darkness and immediately set you into the Kingdom belonging to Jesus.

The difference is you might be walking in enemy territory, but you have all the supplies you need for your missions. You are not seeking to get home, but venturing out into enemy territory to find others who need to know how they too can escape the domain of darkness and you’re there to encourage them to seek Him who can break their prison chains just as He broke yours.
