Lesson 17: A Gift from God, the Father, to Christ
 
 Not only does God the Father give us many things when we accept this gift of salvation, He also gives US as a gift to Jesus Christ. Yes, you are now a love-gift from the Father to the Son, Jesus Christ. We see this in John 17.

Keeping us saved and safe are now Jesus’ responsibilities. We are secure in Jesus to the extent of His power. What is this extent? He is powerful enough to bring back to life that which was dead. Is there any greater power, then, which could take us away from Jesus?

The answer to this question is found in Romans 8:38-39 – “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

One other verse that demonstrates the total safety we have in Christ is in John 14:20 – “In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.” We are surrounded by Jesus Christ, and He is in the Father. Nothing can take us from Him.
