Lesson 25: Having Access to God
We have access:
1) Into His grace. The believer is not only saved by grace, but he stands in grace. Romans 5:2, “Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
This means there is no greater grace we can ever seek – He has already given us ALL He has, ALL we will ever need no matter what the circumstances might ever be.
2) Unto the Father. Ephesians 2:18, “For through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.”
This access can never be taken away from us. Even when we sin, He does not refuse us access to Himself – rather He wants us to return to Him and confess so our fellowship with Him can be restored. He will NEVER turn us away
3) In reassuring. The believer is urged to come with confidence. Hebrews 4:16, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” See also Hebrews 10:10-20.
When we have doubts or fears, He is always there to reassure us. When we think in human words, we think of when our young children come to us with those endless questions, and how soon we grow tired and impatient with those questions. God never tires of our questions, never gets impatient with us coming to Him, is never too busy with other things to spend time with us, and always has exactly the right answers to our questions.
