Part 1: Jesus, The Son of God
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the savior of the world. He is fully God and fully man. And He, being God, descended to become a human so that we would have the opportunity to be restored to full relationship with God. He lived a perfect life and was crucified on a cross, and three days later He rose from the dead to defeat death.
Jesus lived one of the most well-documented lives in ancient history. The four Gospel accounts — Matthew, Mark, Luke and John — create a rich tapestry thoroughly sharing Jesus’ teachings from several perspectives, though there are not enough books to capture all of His deeds (John 21:25). That’s one of the reasons it is possible to know Him by reading these accounts, to believe on Him, and to live according to how He would like you to live. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, the early church started, and more letters were written about how to know God, trust His promises and live a godly life. It explains His love and commitment to you as you follow Jesus and live in the freedom of His forgiveness. These books, combined with the Gospel accounts, make up the New Testament, which spells out a better hope for God’s people.
Jesus is still living and active today, as is evident across the world in those who believe in Him. May your love and faith grow as you learn more about Him!
