Part 14: Jesus Forever in Glory

Where is Jesus Christ today?
After Jesus rose from the dead, He went into heaven to sit at God’s place of authority. The Bible says Jesus Christ “has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand — with angels, authorities and powers in submission to Him.” (1 Peter 3:22) God is nevertheless present on earth through the power of His Spirit working in the world, and through His body, the church. When Christians die, they will go to be forever in heaven with God the Father and Jesus Christ.

Heaven will be a wonderful place.
The Bible paints various word pictures of heaven, but it also says that we are unable to understand all that God has prepared for those who love Him. The Bible does tell us that in heaven there will be no sickness, death, sorrow, or tears. If you think of all evil and sin in this world and then imagine that all of it taken away, you’ll begin to have a glimpse of heaven. Imagine a place where love, joy, and peace take the place of hatred, selfishness, and strife. Imagine a place where there are no more wars, but where all people have enough and care for each other freely. Imagine a place where the government is under the charge of one who is truly just and kind — Jesus Christ our King. Now you begin to have a glimpse of heaven. This can be our eternal destiny if we choose to receive God’s Son, Jesus Christ, as our savior. We have been talking a lot about finding something better here on earth, and here on earth—while we’re still alive—is where we must find Jesus. But the ultimate ‘something better’ is in heaven in the life to come.
