Dear $contact,
Hi, my name is $public_name. I am so glad you have recommitted your life to Jesus! Wherever you've been in your life, God is always waiting to welcome you with open arms.
You may have attended church all your life, or been baptized, or responded to an invitation at church. But how do you know you are really a believer, truly "born again?"
I am here to help you answer that question, and to know how to really follow Christ. A great place to start is m.godlife.com/look-to-jesus. I also encourage you to begin reading the Gospel of John in your Bible, or online at http://downloadbible.godlife.com.
$contact, I want you to know that there are great things in your future. Not only does God have a great plan for your life (using your gifts to glorify Him!) but He also is preparing a place for you in Heaven. Jesus promised it: He said, "When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am". So right now, He is in Heaven interceding for you and preparing a great place for you for eternity.
But in the meantime...God has great things for you to do! He wants you to enjoy your relationship with Him and help others come to know Him-just like you do. God says to you, "I know the plans I have for you: plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11) This means God has a great future for you and you can trust Him.
The first step is truly understanding that He really does have a great plan for you. Learn about His great plan here: http://www.godlife.com/new-believers-guide/created-for-a-purpose. $contact, copy & paste this site into your URL. This site will show you a great video that's less than 2 minutes and have other links that I encourage you to follow.
Spiritual growth is the process of becoming more mature in one’s relationship with Jesus Christ. Someone who is growing spiritually will become more and more like Christ. The spiritually mature will be able to “distinguish good from evil” (Hebrews 5:14). Spiritual growth begins the moment a person comes to faith in Christ and should continue until a person enters Christ’s presence after this life. The apostle Peter says, “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).
Involvement in a local church and the exercise of our spiritual gifts are invaluable to the development of maturity (Ephesians 4:11-16). Rather than be swayed by every errant doctrine that comes along, we can speak “the truth in love,” with the result that “we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ” (verse 15). Look for a basic Bible believing, evangelical church that teaches that salvation is from Jesus' death on the cross, His resurrection and accession into heaven through our repentance of sin and acceptance of Jesus.
Do you feel like you know how to start enjoying this great life with God? I want to help you. $contact, I am praying for you right now as I finish this letter.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for loving us first and for dying for our sins on the cross. I want to pray right now that $contact desire would be to draw near to You. I pray that you would fill $contact with the Holy Spirit and that $contact would continue to grow in faith and to live a life aligned with Your will. In Jesus name, Amen.
How else might I pray for you? Do you have any questions about being a Christian or about the re-commitment that you have made? I look forward to hearing back from you!
