Ninety-five percent or more of messages sent by our Contacts originate from a mobile device.

So, keep in mind that a smaller screen means your contact may need to scroll to view your entire message . Try to make your first 150 words provoke enough interest that they will want to read your entire message. Some key features you could include in the first 150 words are:

  1. A brief, friendly introduction where you mention your public name.

  2. Acknowledge their spiritual decision, yet don’t assume that it is accurate.

  3. Acknowledge and answer their comments.

  4. Pray for your contact, and provide them with a link to an online Bible.

  5. Let your contact know you are there to listen and help them grow closer to Christ, or

  6. help answer their questions if they are not yet Christians.

  7. Ask questions to confirm and help them understand the decision they made, and encourage them to write back.

If your response requires more than 150 words, don’t stop writing! Just do your best to provide a complete answer, remembering that you might be the only Christian this person has ever talked to. Let the light of Christ flow through your words!
