Lesson 1 - Prayer, Introduction:
Sometimes we feel that our prayers are not reaching God, or maybe that God is
not listening. We keep praying for things but are not seeing answers. There are
several things that can block our prayers from being heard. The good news is
that they can be removed by our recognizing them, bringing them before God, and
asking God to help us.
Remember, even if you feel distant and worry God is not hearing you, nothing
can separate you from the love of God:
Romans 8:38-39 - For I am sure that neither
death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able
to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This study will help you learn about things that
get in the way of prayer so you can get closer to God. The Bible is the best
way to learn about God and will be our teacher. I suggest you keep a notebook
and save the scriptures given to you as your own collection as we go along in
this study.
*Action: Pray and ask God to open your mind to truth and understanding. Also
ask God to show you how Bible scriptures apply to your life.
