Lesson 1: Witnesses to the Word of Life
1 John 1:1-4 (ESV) - www.bible.com/bible/59/1jn.1.esv
God’s
Words:
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen
with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning
the word of life—the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify
to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was
made manifest to us—that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you,
so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with
the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things so that
our joy may be complete.”
My words:
I worship You,
Eternal God. You have no beginning and no end – You have always existed and You
always will exist, forever and ever. I am so grateful You preserved Your Word,
the Bible, so I can read the experiences of Jesus’ disciples who actually saw,
heard and touched You. I believe Your Word is 100% accurate and trustworthy.
Jesus, Living Word – thank You for revealing Yourself to me through the written
Word. Son of God, I worship You – You have and will live eternally; You existed
with Your Father throughout all eternity.
It is such a privilege for me to learn about You, getting to know the eternal
and all-powerful God through studying Your life on earth. For 33 years You
humbled Yourself, becoming a man, showing me how to live a God-pleasing life.
Please continue to teach me and change me, and enable me to share Your eternal
life and joy with others!
You came to earth to reestablish a relationship with me – a relationship that
was broken by sin. I enjoy communion with You, God the Father and God the Son,
only because Jesus Christ, the Word of Life, came to earth. Thank You for
revealing Yourself to me and enabling me to enjoy a loving relationship with
You!
In Your matchless, eternal Name, amen.
*What changes could you make in your life to enjoy fellowship/communing with
God more often?
