Lesson 15: Truth and Love
2 John 1-6 (ESV) - www.bible.com/bible/59/2jn.1

God’s Words:
The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all who know the truth, because of the truth that abides in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father's Son, in truth and love.

I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.

My words:
Dear Truth-full and Loving Father, I praise You, the Truth, for taking up permanent residence in me! Thank You for making me part of Your Family, and giving me Your love for all of our Family. I love my church family so much, and appreciate each member for the unique gifts and talents You’ve given them. Please enable us to work together lovingly to further Your kingdom in our little corner of the world – and around the world, as we pray for and give to those You’ve called to work overseas. I pray for my pastors and for others working in the harvest field, so vulnerable to the attacks of our enemy. Please protect them and their families, and encourage them in Your truth and love today.

Thank You for Your grace – for giving me what I don’t deserve, and for your mercy – for not giving me what I do deserve! I deserve everlasting separation from you because of all the ways I fall short of Your glory, and I don’t deserve to be adopted into Your Family and to enjoy a Heavenly Home with you forever. I praise You as my God of peace – and so appreciate You giving me Your peace, especially in those turbulent times in my life when peace seems impossible.

My desire is to conduct my life in Your love, to love all those You’ve given me to connect with down here on earth. Your greatest commandment is to love you and to love one another – enable me to live that out moment by moment in my life today, and every day. In Your matchless loving Truth, amen.
