Day 28: Wise Men find Jesus
Read Matthew 2:1-12

Matthew 2:10 - When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.

As we closed the last lesson, the Wise Men were leaving Jerusalem, following instructions from Herod. But as they left Jerusalem, they suddenly found their star again. We are not told how long it has been since they had seen the star, but perhaps this was one of the reasons they turned back to Jerusalem.

*What do you do when you have lost God’s guidance in your life?

The Wise Men found the star again which had guided them through most of their journey, and were filled with great joy. They followed it now until it led them to the very house where Joseph, Mary, and Jesus now lived in Bethlehem.

Now that the Wise Men were again listening to God, He could also give them other instructions. He warned them in a dream that they were not to return to Herod in Jerusalem to tell him where they had found Jesus. Even though the way they had come was the road most easily traveled, providing comfort for them, they chose a different way to go home. This was most likely through deep deserts where travel would be much less comfortable.

*Are you willing to go where God leads, even if that way is one of difficulty and hardship? Are you willing to give up the comforts of this life for the greater glory of eternal life?
